Microtecna Logistic Platform (MLP)

A multi-purpose platform designed and built to manage complex AGV/AMR-based logistics processes.

The solution is made of different vehicle modules that allow natural navigation in both indoor and outdoor enviorments, with full omni-directional control that can be based on standard-wheels or mecanun wheels vehicles' architectures and adopts 360° adaptive safety technology, obstacle avoidance algorithms and integration of different types of equipments (rollers, elevators, robots, ).

From a process management standpoint, the platform is composed by several modules that allow fleet management, traffic management, integration with both external PLC-based plants or MES and ERP software, custom-made decisional algorithms and a process simulator that allows the testing of complex processes before the construction of plants and vehicles.

The system allows multiple User Interfaces (UI) like mobile devices, web interfaces and stand-alone interfaces.

Each module can be customized and integrated with the others to achieve optimal logistic outcomes.

The platform is made of two technological layers:

  • The first is a Windows PC based system with proprietary RTOS extension, where AGVs' data are communicated at ultra high speed and HPC operations are performed. This system communicates with the PLCs that installed on each vehicle (or external support plants) and is provided with an internal database that manages the traceability of the process.
  • The second layer is a PLC based solution that manages the machines' operations through motion control technologies and I/Os. The PLC is also provided with an integrated and certified safety solution.
